As the title says, I’ve got a Sharp Aquos LC-65LE654U doing the infamous frozen logo / frozen startup cycle. I read a firmware update via USB might fix it but I cannot find the firmware online and it doesn’t appear that SHARP publishes it on their website anymore. I have emailed them but not getting my hopes up for a good response. Anyone know of another avenue or if an older firmware version would be okay to try? (I think I came across one in an old post). Otherwise I’ll pursue replacing the main board but they look very expensive and hard to find. Thank you
I emailed SHARP who was reluctant to provide the firmware and miraculously weeks later they sent me “the only firmware they have for that model”. I followed the process that someone on Reddit recommended (unzipping the file to a FAT 32 formatted USB drive and naming it install.img) https://www.reddit.com/r/TVRepair/commen… The TV began loading the firmware immediately and it now works 100% normal again. I am ecstatic. I’m going to try to find a way or place to upload the firmware for other people who may need this. There is literally no other option to fix this model that I could find except a main board repair for $150. This repair was 100% free for me and relatively simple.
I just did this last summer to my tv. I should have the usb. Let me see if I can figure how to foward it
I searched the internet for an uncorrupted version of the firmware that Sharp support pointed me to. I found this file out there. Use at your own risk, since it is not supplied by Sharp. I can say that I downloaded it and used it to reset the firmware in my TV. I have the same model as the OP. It worked just great for me. I hope this will help others who are struggling with the Sharp logo stuck on the screen on power up. https://rebyte.me/en/sharp/155164/file-1…
