LG 27MD5KA-B Greetings! I have an LG monitor that stopped powering on, but in my research, I learned that the screen won’t come on unless it detects a display input. The only form of video input is through USB-C and there’s only one port that will allow for video-in. I tore the unit apart and discovered that the main USB-C connector was completely separated from the board. So I know that’s the issue since every other aspect of the monitor is working as expected. Now, my concern is A) Finding a proper replacement USB-C connector since this one has given up and B) If the motherboard is salvageable. Below is a link to an Imgur post with 2 images. One of the board itself and the other being the USB-C connector. My concern with the motherboard is that it looks like the lower copper veins(?) are exposed and perhaps not making good contact. Apologies for the lack of a close-up as I don’t have a microscope to show the damage more clearly.

I have found replacement boards, but they’re $350+ from reputable sellers, and I’d like to just replace the USB-C connector if possible instead of swapping the main control board. Thank you very much for your time and your opinions!
Riley Pearce yup, that is the problem for sure. So now it’s a matter of finding the connector. You will need to look for a vertical mounted one. I suggest you check with Mouser.com or digikey.com for a replacement. You have the physical connector so you can get the specifics for the search filters from there. Not an easy task to find it but it’s possible. Next issue will be the repair. Those connectors are a bit tough to solder back in place. You need to have the right tools and the skills to do so. The broken traces can be repaired by applying jumpers across. Again, not an easy fix but not impossible. Take a look at the data sheet for more assistance with the connector situation.
