My gamegear is having issues and I’m not sure what needs to be replaced so I was hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. When I turn the system on the red “ON” indicator light lights up for about 2-3 seconds and then goes out. The screen doesn’t illuminate at all during the brief 2-3 second period either. My guess is the screen or logic board need to be replaced but I’m not sure. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help
You need to replace the capacitors inside the game gear. there are 3 boards that they need to be replaced on. The power board, the audio board, and the main board. Its not difficult, but time consuming since you have to remove the old capacitors, clean the solder pads, and solder on new capacitors. Search online for capacitor replacement kits. You will need to know what revision your game gear is, this is located inside the case of the game gear printed on the mainboard.
