What is the range to fix this type of issue(s)?The machine washes great just seems so loud at the spin cycle… The unit is a GE Profile top loader and is 6 or 7 years old but is at a Vacation 2nd home so it’s used sporadically.
A washer making a loud noise during spin cycle can also be caused by a faulty drive pulley. The pulley is what the belt (if applicable to your washer) rides on to spin your washers tub. The pulley can be made of plastic or metal. It could be simply worn out or just loose. Reasons a washer will make noise during spin mode:
- Main tub bearing faulty
- Main drive pulley
- Motor coupling worn
- Bad clutch
- Worn out drive belt
- Clogged or damaged drain pump
- Transmission is worn out
- Shock absorber (front loader washers)
- Springs or dampening straps (top load washers)
- Agitator directional cogs aka “agitator dogs” (top load washers)
