Hello, my SD Card Reader won’t write on all my SD Cards any more. Aperture can’t delete Pictures. If I use an USB Card Reader, everything is fine. The Cards are working fine. I think the reader is broken. Do I have to change the Logic Board or is the Card Reader changeable? Thanks for your answers.
With a magnifying glass look into the connector do you see any damaged pins? It’s possible the connector is only dirty. Try cleaning it with a non-lubracating electronics spray cleaner. Sorry to say the connector is part of the logic board so you can’t replace it easily (need to de-solder it and solder a new one on). This is a delicate soldering job it maybe more than you want to tackle. Are you sure the connector is bad and not the SC card? Often the card is worn or the switch is loose.
I have the same problem on my Macbook Pro late 2010 tried different cards and no uniformed them was read, tested on a regular Pc and work, and to take the doubt tried other 2 macbook and none of them read the cards, my doubts it can be incompatibility with the model card? how can I test the reader to see if this all right? Thx for help
