I am having an iPad 2 issue (or my son does) . i tried to troubleshoot blindly and accidentally held the home button and the top power button at the same time. I got the main screen to show up…. but wasn’t able to go further as the screen went black again after 5 sec but I did see it was 100% charged What spacificly is my issue is the screen shows NO Response to Pushing the Home button or touching the screen. Or it’s not consistent no signs of damage (no water or heavy drops) I can hear the ping sound when I plug it in and sometimes it will show a flash of blueish screen instead of the usual black when it’s off…. is this like a game system 3 Blue rings? Prior to any of this it was a little slow so I allowed the latest update to go through (version 9.3.5) from That point I started with the bluish screen or a white flash. After looking at many of helpful answers I did a successful hard reset in that I pressed the right buttons in the right order and time. The main screen was back BUT only for 5-6 mins in order for me to see I have version 9.3.5 (13G36) in the iPad 2. I than finished updating some games I already had and than poof it went black again…. tried to do the usual wake up steps nothing worked….. So I did another hard reset (success after it first made a photo sound) this time I turned it off myself (with the swipe option) figuring that would be easier on the system…. So my 2nd question is how many hard resets is acceptable before I end up frying the motherboard?
@momof2boys , Maureen, I do not think you have to worry about frying the mother board because of factory resets. There are different opinions on whether Two many factory resets will actually do any damage. Check the links below for more info.. After you factory reset your iPad, watch what you are loading back on to see what App, game, data, etc., makes your iPad not respond correctly and then delete the App, program, etc., and try. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/705… https://www.payetteforward.com/how-to-ha… http://forums.imore.com/iphone-6/345824-…
