I replaced a screen on an iPhone 5s and the screen won’t dim. I just get a blue tint when dimming the screen in settings. any thoughts on the issue?

The issue wound up being a back Digitizer. Received a replacement screen and now the phone dims correctly

Did you try to put back your old screen like @benjamen50 suggested? If the problem is only with the replacement screen, then go to this page to find out how to return your screen under warranty. The folks here are only volunteers and do not work for or represent iFixit.
