No picture. Happened suddenly. Tried the troubleshooting in book. Removed power overnight, same results. Called Sony, they had me reset to factory settings. Now no picture, no sound, nothing. Tv is only 3 years old! KDL-40W600B. Told me to contact repair facility 2.5 hours away!

@algog43 proceed by following the triage chart for your model

and let us know what you find. We still need more info to see if any LED is blinking. you can also post some images of your boards with your question. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that. Since you have audio but no video I would concentrate on the LVDS cables and the T-Con board. Most T-con boards are fused, so check the fuse for continuity.

A word of caution: The factory reset most likely changed the input setting so double check that you actually have lost sound. I would suspect a power supply problem initially as these are the most common. Also, are you sure that the back light is working? Use the flashlight method to see if there is an image on the screen. Again, I would suspect that the back light is not working. Once this is verified, we can then examine further and provide additional items to check. Dan

I have 49” Sony 4k, costed me Rs.1.5 lacs .. and few months later , screen goes blank, no picture no sound.. and it is happening rather frequently then I have to switch off the main switch and turn it on and pray that pictures come Emmm… suggest not to use Sony for more than two hours.. at a stretch in a day - because as they say it’s “HOT” I guess it does goes HOT

I have a 40” Sony KDL-32R300B, has sound but no picture can’t be seen unless a light is being flashed on it. I have taken the back of the tv off to see if there is anything fried and the BASIC skills I have I dont see anything wrong with it at all.
