Screen will work to log in and swipe up, however is otherwise unresponsive. Also cannot force quit.
It’s hard to fathom why the screen would work for unlocking and not for the apps. I suspect a software/iOS glitch. You should try to do a hard reset (hold the Home & Power Button for 10 secs) to see if that helps. Otherwise, backup the device if you can and do a full restore on it.
