So I used an iFixit iPhone screen repair kit (full front assembly), and all worked perfectly. The colours are a bit naff, but it works. Until I spent some time on the phone - an hour(ish) of phone calls and the screen now has a horrible flicker - headache inducing, and the sound quality out the microphone is terribly poor. The front camera works fine though. I followed all the steps in the guide to-the-letter. Any tips/advice? It seems like the sensible thing to do based on previous answers is to try re-seat connectors or leave it for a while - but I don’t want to risk running awry of time-bound warranty replacements or open and close my phone like a fridge door.

The flickering can be caused by a few things: Bad screen (unlucky if it is the case)Screen / battery was unplugged while the screen was switched onScreen connectors need reseating or cleaning (clean with soft bristle brush + 99%~ ipa alcohol) due to loose connection between the connector and the ribbon cable. When you mean sound quality out the microphone you mean the speaker that is located on the screen that you put near your ear to listen to the person trying to speak to you over phone calls right? You’ll probably have to transfer the earpiece speaker from the old screen to the new one as it sounds like a bad quality speaker that came with the pre-assembled iPhone SE screen. If all attempts still result in a flickering screen (sometimes it disappears after 24 hours) you’ll have to get a warranty replacement from iFixit.
