Apple logo is still lit on the back and screen looks like a greyish color that wants to let the light shine. It works without any issue with an external monitor. How can I fix my laptop screen?
First reseat your display cable. See step #14 of the display replacement guide: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Late 2011 Display Replacement
Hi there Logan! So, it sounds like the LCD might be cracked or damaged internally, which means, sadly, you might have to replace the screen. However, did you try to reset the SMC or PRAM at all? For the PRAM, all you will have to do is: Turn off the computer and hold down the Option, Command, P, and R keys. Then turn it back on again.Keep holding the four keys for at least 20 seconds and wait to hear the chime and when the Apple logo appears for a second time. For the SMC, shut down the computer and hold down the Power button for 10 seconds and let go. Next, turn it back on. Let’s hope that it’s just a quick reset issue.
Hey there Logan. I would recommend doing what Mayer said above and reseat the display cable. if that doesn’t work you could replace the Display. It isn’t too terribly difficult of a job if you know your way around electronics and repairing them. Just watch a couple of videos and you should be perfectly fine!
