Plug the Kindle into the charger for 10-15 min. Then, while it’s still connected to the charger, press and hold the on switch for 60 seconds. (Time it.) Then release the button and wait 3 minutes for the Kindle to reboot. It that does not help, try disconnecting the battery and hold down the power switch for 60 seconds. Then reinstall the battery and repeat the procedure above.

Do NOT send your Kindle off to be repaired to anyone on here saying they can fix it. ! They will keep your kindle and take your money as well. Take it some where local where you live and have it repaired.

We repair these A LOT! The jack is unbalanced on the Main Board and is easily detached by normal wear and tear. Soldering the jack back on to the board is a little tricky but the real repair is getting the port sturdy to prevent the issue from re-occurring. We do a full repair by removing the old solder on the board and the jack then reattach using flux and fresh solder. We also stabilize the port so it doesn’t happen again. You can send it from anywhere in the US and we’ll repair it for $39.95 which includes return shipping. www.rockhoptec.com please call or email with any questions! (585) 487-8220 alex@rockhoptec.com

Hey Guys here is a soultion to your problem if none of these work! My new friends at SRR Manufacturing Services helped me fix my Kindle! I had the same problem but I went to their site at " http://srrmfg.com/about_us " and I went down to the Kindle USB port repair (thats what i thout was broken at the time but it wasent that) I saw that its a $30 fix so I said its been broken long enough so I went to contact us and then they emailed me. Here is what the said “Hello, Thank you for inquiring about our Kindle Fire USB Charge Port Repair Service. We charge a flat rate of $30.00 per Kindle. If you need more info go to there site and contact them! Thats how i got my Kindle fixed!

You are going to have to Google on software to reset a Kindle Fire and it will “Brick” it. Follow instructions on a video on youtube.com if you like. I did. Not that hard to do. Good luck!

My kindle fire 8 hasn’t really been charging and when I try to turn it on it will either stay black wi th no noise or short circuit with a black screen. I’ve tried charging it and turning it on, I had this problem not to long ago and nothing is working.

Hi Nancy, Were you able to replace the battery? If yes then did your device function properly after the battery replacement? Thanks, Shubhangi

there are other options to repair if kindle if you want to use it still….. try this option http://jordanzaerr.github.io/blog/2013/0… basically resets entire kindle back to factory and you will have to redownload everything but it will work again….

I would have to suggest a battery replacement most of the time when your Kindle just sticks on the Kindle Fire screen. Could be software also but not likely.

I replaced the battery as initially suggested and it didn’t make any difference.

hi guyes my kf just show me on the screen the kindle fire and it wont boot up, now to you what should i do? i tried a lot the way you told that push power buttom for 20 or 30 or 60 sec, but it is like a brike, and just show me kindle fire, and i charged it for 2 daysssss

My Kindle Fire HDX 8.9" is stuck on the “Kindle Fire” screen. I’ve tried a hard reset, but nothing works. I’ve only had it for a little over a year. $300+ wasted! On the other hand, my iPad that I’ve had since 2010 is still working almost good as new (a few charging issues). I should have got a new iPad.

Well try to get a battery replacment kit from amazon and fix the battery

I took mine to a phone doctor store. They thought it was the battery. Waiting for that to come in to see if that fixes it. I’ll let you know.

SRR Manufacturing Services has had mine for months now and won’t send it back. Avoid them!!

my kindle fire HD 6 has shut down completely sine September 2015… this is the second time this happened. but luckily after the first time it turned back on randomly . i believe the reason this happened is because i haven’t been active with it for about a month or too. im praying that this second time will end up like the first time when it turned back on.

This Should Hopefully Help you, While it is showing the screen, hold the power button down until the screen turns off (mine took about 16 seconds) then wait for around 30 seconds, then power it back on and wait for the screen to turn off during booting and then hit the power button for the screen to be alerted that you are there, then it should show the correct screen (the screen you swipe to get in) I Hope This Will Help you with this Problem, i had the problem and i did this.

If nothing else works connect cable to power source. Grab a tiny piece of aluminum foil and wrap AROUND the male piece, leaving the center open for obvious reasons. Plug it up and it’s magic. You may need to enter Recovery Mode and factory reset the device. Enter recovery mode WHILE UNPLUGGED. Factory reset then repeat steps above.

hey everybody,my kindle fire fell into the Indian ocean but i picked up really first before it sunk,so it got a bit wet, after for an entire day it did not go on,so i charged it the whole night, turned it on in the morning and it just displayed the kindle fire logo and fastboot in yellow writing, I did a combination of things at first, held down the power button till my fingers hurt, held both volume buttons down and the power button too,for minutes till it hurt again, prayed and believed lol, finally I switched it off the turned it back on after 45 seconds and as soon as the kindle fire logo displayed I pressed down the power button again, and again ,and again and kept pressing down,on and on and on and on,just tapping on the power button must have been more than thirty times,my shoulders hurt. Then with ninja like precision ,swiftly moved my other fingers on the volums buttons and pressed both down and kept holding down while tapping on the power button,it turned on !!! But mostly I believed!
