Chosen Solution
My iBook is set to a 1024x768 screen resolution. After a few minutes, the screen will flash all blue (like the default background color) and then reset the resoultion to 640x480 and does not give me a choice to increase it in the settings panel. Sometimes a reboot will not correct this. I have reinstalled OS 10.3 twice and it keeps happening. Thanks for your help.
First try as always - zap the pram. Hold down ALT + APPLE + P + R boot and wait for the second chime before you release the keys. Should be tried first, everytime a mac acts up.
