Hi all, please help! I changed a broken screen for a friend on an iphone 7 using a screen complete with digitizer, ear piece, front camera etc from amazon. The screen works fine but the problems I have are that the proximity sensor does not work, when you make a call you can not hear the other person and they cannot hear you, the speaker button is greyed out when calling and when you try and go onto facetime it just closes itself straight away. Please Help! Thank you
Most probably nothing that has to do with the screen replacement but with the fall or previous ones..audio IC is a known issue on iPhone 7, plenty of answers on the subject already: https://www.ifixit.com/Search?doctype=po…
Hi Tom If there is nothing wrong with the old pieces I would strongly recommend transferring them over (even though it is a bit of work) as they are the original ones and they should work just fine.
Who ever replaced the screen did not get them plugged in corectly or not at all . Most likely they did not put the cover plate back on that covers the plugs and holds them down ….Take the two screws out on each side of charger port then get a suction cup stick it to the lower side of iPhone and pull the screen up (Watch a YouTube video) they are not glued in so dont heat it up ..Rest assure that is your problem there all on the same plug ..If it was a reliable repair shop take it back to them but as a tech i can say they should have tested that phone hope they did not damage the socket as few are capable of that repair
