I had my sons iPhone 8 screen replaced. It shows “iPhone is Disabled connect to iTunes” but when I connect it, it doesn’t recognize the device and it doesn’t print iTunes to open. If iTunes is already open and I connect the phone, it does nothing. He backed up via iCloud, but never connected to the computers iTunes. What next?
Yeah the disabled after screen replacement is almost always due to the old screen sustaining damage inside the display (black blotches, lines, no display) / faulty touch screen which will cause ghost touching of entering the passcode. Need to restore the iPhone. You can use the method as Tom mentioned here otherwise you can follow the guide from apple here: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT204306
Erase the phone and restore from iCloud. If it has never been connected to iTunes, don’t bother as the device won’t accept any iTunes connection and iTunes don’t have your device’s key anyway.
