Chosen Solution
Suddenly my screen won’t change from portrait mode to landscape when I turn the device - only showing in portrait even when turned sideways Update Thank you, nicksmacandpchelp and oldturkey03! Got it! :)
On the side, like the iPhone, only the iPad’s locks the rotation, reset that to unlocked and that should do it
I have noticed this problem too while using some apps like SKYPE on the IPAD2. When ever an app like SKYPE is crashed or closed. The screen tilting is not working. I think if you restart the device, this is not repeating. This may partly answer your question. But this is what i have identified so far.
