There’s No Cracks . The Screen Turns , It Is Just Unresponsive When I Touch It . This Is The First Time It Has Been Like This , The Phone Was Being Used One Minute and Then The Next The Screen Began To Be Unresponsive .
Sounds like there is a digitizer issue happening. I would check for any hairline cracks that are under the glass. If there are any, the screen assembly would need to be replaced. Second thing to check which is much more complicated and could cause you to need a new display regardless if done wrong would be to remove the display and reseat the display cable on the logic board. Best of luck
can you try to uninstall the recently downloaded apps.. and if is not working try to hard reset .
The only thing that worked for me was accessing my camera by pressing hard on camera and swiping up like when using camera without opening phone. ..it then allowed me to hit back key and went back to my screensaver and I was able to key unlock code and open !!it’s been working for a few hours now..E 6-1-17
I have this issue too. My Galaxy S5 has beening doing it for a while. Mine was new in 2014 and otherwise continues to work very well. Everything appears normal. The device starts properly (from a cold start) but once startup is complete, it’s intermittently unresponsive to certain tap and swipe gestures. This unresponsiveness is most consistently noticeable on right swipes necessary to open into the home screen, from a screen locked state. I don’t need or want to use any of the screen lock security options and keep those options turned off. I do have 2 fine cracks in the Corning Gorilla Glass from a couple of drops. Could this be effecting it? I’ll get a new Gorilla Glass protector and see if this helps.
I had some trouble, I just did a shut down and restart and all works fine again. No hairline cracks or anything else, but did notice it when Samsung did updates, so like any updates, just restart. Hope that helps others!
