Hi, I have been having problems with my digitizer cable becoming loose lately, so I opened my phone up to try to snap it back in. I had a little trouble getting it to stay in, but I finally got it to snap back in. I connected everything else back into place, and turned my phone back on. However, when I turned it back on, the display on the screen is some red and black “glitch”-looking screen. The home button still works and the phone is on, as I can still access siri, and the display goes away when I press the lock button, but I’m afraid I might have damaged a ribbon or cable in the process. Any suggestions? I have already tried hard resetting it.
I think it’s safe to say the screen has gone completely faulty now. You will need to get it replaced. It’s showing a backlight (black image) display but not showing any image right? You can try flattening the ribbon cables if they are bent in an awkward position. Also you are using the metal plate that goes on top of the screen connectors right? You may also need to flatten the display and touch screen cable plugs on the connector in by using two fingers, one above and one under connector push together against to flatten the connector. You should hear a satisfying click when you plug in the ribbon cable to the logic board which means it has a good connection.
