Both screen hinges are broken and some of the wire is displayed. Help !

Broken hinge Alas, hinges on the Titanium series were not made out of titanium. This oversight by Apple means that broken hinges are an all-too-common problem on Titanium PowerBooks. Hinge repair is one of the few installations best left to professionals. Apple glued the display assembly tightly together, making opening the display without damaging the thin metal casing very difficult. For those who know exactly what they’re getting into, we do offer hinges for sale. Please note that we do not have installation instructions available for these hinges. A much easier installation is replacing the entire display assembly, which includes the hinges. We do offer complete LCD assemblies as well as installation instructions.PowerBook G4 Titanium DVI Display Replacement Here’s the part: [linked product missing or disabled: IF133-050-1] Some pictures uploaded would certainly help ascertain the extent of your damage. Remember this sites name? It is possible to replace the LVDS cable and hinges. But I agree - not an easy task. I did this a few times and glued the display casing back together using cyanacrylat. http://www.thebookyard.com stocks all spares needed, sorry but i didn’t check iFixit. The most difficult part of the job is fiddelin’ the LVDS through the gap in the bottom case since the cable is really fragile.
