I have put a new screen on my iPhone 4s as my old one was smashed. At first it was fine for about 24hrs then suddenly my phone went a bit mad with a striped screen and then it went black. I plugged it in to my charger however it beeps constantly and didn’t come on. After trying a couple times and plugging it into my laptop it eventually came on. It was then fine for another 12hrs or so but the same thing happened again however it didn’t come back on quite so easily. This has happened 4 times now in 3 days and nothing I seem to do can fix it, seems to randomly start working again. Please help.
Hi David, Try disconnecting the display cables, cleaning the connectors with a cotton swab dipped in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Then re-seating and testing your phone.
- If you still experience the same issue, and if you still have your old screen (or a new known good screen), try it on. If the issue goes away, you have a defective screen.
- If the issue remains, you may have a damage on the logic board due to prying during the first screen replacement, or due to a drop or liquid damage if you had any of does. Let us know if that’s the case, and we’ll take it from there.
