About a month ago my screen started flickering at low brightness. I tried turning off hardware overlays in the developer settings but unfortunately it did not help. But the thing is that I can dimm the screen like crazy using for example twilight but if i use the normal android slider then below a certain threshold it starts flickering no matter what twilight is doing.

The LCD screen flex cable is worn out and not well connected with the motherboard. This may cause by overheating, moisture or dropping damage.

do you have a damaged screen? if so it’s probably because you cannot adjust the AMOLED display and backlight independently. OLED displays increase or decrease voltage to each diode for the brightness and do not require a backlight unlike an LCD which uses the backlight to shine through the liquid crystals to produce color. The problem here is the S7 Edge DOES have a backlight to reduce screen glare in bright environments. So when your screen dims it reduces the voltage to the OLEDs that are arranged in a series. Components connected in series are connected along a single conductive path, so the same current flows through all of the components but voltage is dropped (lost) across each of the resistances.
