Sometimes the screen backlight flickers of my Macbook Air mid 2013 (especially if backlight is set on low) and sometimes goes black after a while (I can still see the screen working, but without the backlight). What could be the problem and how can I fix it? Please find a video here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/R1PwaJtE9fVWPF… Many thanks for your help in advance!
It’s hard to be of great help without any backgroud info, but picture clearly shows a backlight stage effect. It can be caused by a damaged screen cable, bad screen, bad connector on the logic board or an issue at backlight circuit on the logic board. You can try reseating the screen cable on its connector, but beside that, without known good parts to test or deeper diagnostic on the logic board there’s nothing else that can be done on a DiY basis. 13” screens for a A1466 are too expensive to just buy one risking it’s board issue in the end.
MacBooks aren’t my strong suite. But I’d suggest taking a look at the connection between the back-light and the motherboard.
