Hi iFixit, I disassembled my 2017 Macbook Pro (non-touch A1708) to replace the thermal paste on the board. I re-assembled everything as I disassembled it, but the unit would not power on. I tried the following to trouble-shoot: Connected the power cable to the laptop. Reset the SMC by holding down ctrl+shift+option on the left-hand side of the keyboard combined with the power button for 10 seconds, released, then tried the power button. No power.Connected the power cable to the laptop. Held down power button for 10 seconds. Removed power cable. Hit power button. No power.Re-seated the daughterboard battery test cable multiple times. No power. The macbook is not completely dead as I was able to power it on twice with a similar set of steps: Plug in the macbook to the chargerHold the power button down for 2-3 secondsclose the lid (I don’t know why this affects it, or if it even does) The macbook then powers up but it shows no battery. Unplugging it from the AC outlet automatically turns it off. I went back through the logic board with a fine-tooth comb thinking I might have nicked something, and low and behold it looks like the screwdriver slipped and I scratched the battery daughterboard (images attached).

https://i.imgur.com/AZQp7lm.jpg I ordered a replacement battery daughterboard test cable just in case that’s the issue, but if it turns out to be the scratches, is there any way I can repair them without replacing the battery? The battery only has 44 charges on it. Is there any possibility it’s something else besides the battery? Thanks in advance!
For anyone that might run into this post and have the same issue, the problem was the daughterboard cable. Somehow it failed during the process, even though the cable shows no signs of damage. After replacing the cable, the MBP recognized the battery.
