iam using my pc with config pentium4 processor and intel mother board from 3years but now i have a problem with my hard disk it was detecting in the booting but while working suddenly my hard disk was not detected by my pc

make sure the plugs are in all the way, push hard on them, also you might check the shunt is in the right spot it should be set to Master. the shunt is located next to the sata plug, it slides into several slots there is a diagram on the face of the hard drive explaining which one is Master, slave, etc. A+ certified in computer repair

sounds like your southbridge chipset is having problems. in order to correct problem you need to have someone reflow the chip. you can try doing it yourself with some flux and a heatgun.
