Hi. I dropped my Samsung Galaxy A5 on its back and the screen turned black. I can hear the sound when i get a new message on WhatsApp, but the screen is always black. What should i do ? I can’t remove the battery then put it back again because the cover can’t be taken off. Please help i’m desperate !

You have probably damaged the display or the force from the drop disconnected the flex cable that attached it. Check the display carefully for damage if you can’t see any then it may need reconnecting, I’ve seen it happen before on Samsung Galaxy S5’s.

If you dropped your S5 phone and have a black screen (phone still appears to work, but nothing appears on screen). Turn it off, take out the battery. And squeeze the upper right corner ( watch a disassembly video for the precise location) to reconnect the cable to the screen. After a lot of stress and almost deciding to spend a lot of money on a new screen this fixed it in about a minute.

You just need to open up the screen and maybe screen cable not connect just go to YouTube to see how to open the screen

There are three ways for you fix Samsung with black screen of death, you can try to wipe the cache partition; perform the master reset and using a broken Android data extraction Way 1: Wipe the cache partition If the problem occurred after an update, then try to wipe the cache partition to delete the caches and be replaced with new ones. Here’s how… Turn off your Galaxy Note 5. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, and Power key. When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys. Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’ Press the Power key to select. When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted. Press the Power key to restart the device. Way 2: Perform the master reset Should the problem persists after wiping the cache partition, then you have no other option but to reset your phone. It might be a serious firmware issue and you need to have everything wiped off and build up your phone from scratch again. Remove your Google account and disengage the screen locks to make sure you won’t trip the Factory Reset Protection (FRP). Turn off your Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys together. When the device powers on and displays ‘Power on logo’, release all keys and the Android icon will appear on the screen. Wait until the Android Recovery Screen appears after about 30 seconds. Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option, ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and press the Power key to select it. Press the Vol Down button again until the option ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted and then press the Power key to select it. After the reset is complete, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and hit the Power key to restart the phone. SPAM REMOVED

My Samsung A5 fell down and then had a black screen, i was getting calls but the screen was blacked out. I squeezed the upper right corner(by the front facing camera) of my A5. No hard pressure was even needed. I heard a light click sound and then the screen came alive, i restarted the phone and the original colors were set right. @Nico van Rensburg Thanks
