My S7 went dark, diagnosis, new motherboard. When/if I replace it, are my contacts and photos lost? Ideas?
No, everything is on that board. Price of a new board is pretty much the same as a whole phone.
Dear friend, i would highly recommend to backup your contacts and photos before replacing you Motherboard for your phone, i am not really sure, if your information will stay intact upon replacing your MB= Motherboard on your device. Remember that Motherboards made be same but chips might have a different programming where your data is not readable. all your information are old MB chip and to be honest i have not done backup on a dead screen .
