Hello all, I can’t seem to find anything to root my ZTE Maven. Kingo root sends IMEI and s/n to some weird Chinese server, and most other rooting applications aren’t compatible. I’m not brave enough to manually root it either. Please help! P.S. The only reason I want to root is to remove all of the stupid AT&T bloatware.
There currently isn’t any way to permanently root the AT&T version of the maven. There are a couple of developers involved at the xda forums, but the locked bootloader still is blocking a full root. You can get temp root with kingo, but that’s about it unfortunately. For temp root take the following steps: Step 1: Put your phone in FTM(Vol Down + Power) & run the latest kingoroot. Let it finish.Step 2: rebootStep 3: run kingoroot AGAIN & let it finish.Step 4: uninstall kingoroot SU application.
I have a ZTE maven too. I have used KingRoot (not kingoroot) to root my phone. Hope it works for you!
