So I opened my notebook (Samsung np850xbd) and when disconnecting the fan I ripped off the connector, can be fixed?
Hi @grysuk, That’s unfortunate! But; It can be fixed with some fine soldering. Note: It will be best with a fine precision soldering iron / tip, and some very fine non enameled magnet wire (single strand). This is soldered to the trace, where it was ripped, then routed to where the trace ended in a pad. Carefully make a new pad with the magnet wire, then I suggest using UV mask to cover the newly created “trace” to avoid shorts. Once cured, scrape off the mask from the pad, and you can solder the connector back in place. I have done this sort of repair many, many times. It helps with a good microscope, but is possible without.
