Chosen Solution

Hi all. I replaced a broken iPhone 7 Plus screen and the right side of the screen randomly stops responding. None of the apps on the right side of the screen can be opened. It seems to happen more after the phone goes into hibernate. A quick screen lock/unlock usually fixes it 99% of the time. But this happens 5-10 times a day and its getting really annoying. The screen was “seller refurbished OEM “ purchased off ebay (I know, I know). Did I get a bad screen or is there some way to fix this? It’s weird because most of the time the screen works fine, its just when this happens.

Thanks!

I suspect it’s just a bad screen. However, you must first double-check your work to insure everything was done properly. Insure the connectors are snapped into place properly. Then look for debris or damage to the connectors. Then look at the flexes to insure they aren’t torn, even by the tiniest amount. If all of that looks good, then you will need to try another replacement screen to see if the problem goes away. If a new replacement screen does the same, then you may have a logic board issue.

The seller can very well be lying. If you want to buy a screen from eBay then buy a original refurbished screen. Those of course are the best quality possible.
