When replacing the battery, I have mistakenly damaged a ribbon cable from the logic board. I tried to research what the function of the ribbon cable is but to no avail. The MacBook still starts up currently and I have not encountered a problem yet, but I’m sure a ripped ribbon cable will come to haunt me back at some time. Does anybody know what the function of this ribbon cable (see picture) is and how I can find a replacement?
There is a marking on the ribbon with a QR code and the text “CTH8034AKXHH6PGAY”. No result when I google this.
First off your battery is badly blistered! You need a new battery ASAP!! In the meantime I do recommend you take the system outside and carefully remove the battery before it leaks. It could cause serious damage smoke, heat and fire. Please, don’t charge or use your system in this state!
