I have a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro Retina, & Mid 2015 MacBook Pro Retina I was wondering if I can retro fit the Mid 2012 MBP with the Mid 2015 MBP’s Logic Board (both are A1398s). I wonder if it will fit and if the screws will align correctly before I even attempt it. I’ve already swapped a Mid 2012 to another Mid 2012, without problem. But, is there any difference between Mid 2012 to Mid 2015? I’m looking for short yes/no answers, but I’ll gladly accept an explanation as to why it can or can-not be done.
Simple answer No! See for your self they are different boards, while very similar the headphone jack is setup differently as well as the one uses a Trackpad and the other a Touchpad:
