I have a Canon Pixma MX420 printer and i’m getting the ink absorber is almost full. I have removed them and cleaned them. Still getting the error. How do I reset it to remove this error?
Resetting the waste ink absorber on a Canon printer 1.Make sure the printer is turned off. 2.Press and hold the Resume button (triangle inside a circle). 3.Whilst it is held down, hold down the Power button. The green led light should come on. 4.Keep the Power button held down. Release the Resume button and then press it twice. The light should go amber, then green again. 5.Release the Power button. 6.Press the Resume button four times and then press the Power button straight after to confirm the selected action (Reset Counter Absorber). 7.Turn off the printer and then turn it on again Hopefully this helps
For the MG6220: You must reset the Ink absorber counter after cleaning.
- Download ST_V3600_resetters.exe from Cannon
- Turn off printer. Start the ST_V3600 on computer connected to printer
- Holding down the stop button, press the on button. Keep both pressed
- While holding the on button, press the stop button 5 times. Then release the On button.
- When Power light is on, the machine is ready for service mode.
- Run the Test page option from the ST_V3600_resetters.exe program.
- After it completes, press the Set button by Ink Absorber Counter/ counter Value 0. Turn off computer (These instructions re in the MG6220 or MG5220 (almost correct) technical manuals)
I followed the instructions here - https://easyfixs.blogspot.com/2019/09/se… Downloaded and extracted the RAR, ran through the steps to turn on the printer in Service Mode (Canon MG5250 required pressing the STOP button 5 times) and then the software worked. Just pressed the SET Button on the v4720 Service Tool.
