Hello, I actually own the 3542 not the 3541 that I selected but it was the only option and plus they seem nearly identical. Whenever I boot up the laptop I get five beeps. I looked up the beep codes and apparently that means the CMOS Battery is failing. Was just curious if anyone had a guide? Instructions? Or anything. Even where to buy a quality replacement battery. Thanks
Hi, Here is a link to a video which shows how to remove the motherboard in your laptop so that you can access the CMOS battery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vm3xfkKz… At 2:56 minutes into the video the battery is visible. I have highlighted the battery location in the image below.
(click on image to enlarge for better viewing) The battery looks to be a standard lithium coin cell type battery. The type number will be stamped on the battery. They are most probably available in supermarkets etc. Hopefully this is of some help.
