Hi there, I am replacing my 2011 macbook pro 15" super drive with a enclosure and a 500gb Momentus XT hybrid HDD. And here is the questions Since i am using a SSD for my original Hard disk place. Will the Super drive 500gb Momentus XT go to sleep when i don’t use it? (is the IR sensor use for that?) Because, i will only use my Momentus XT, purely as a storage that store large movie, pictures files, which does not require to read and write most of the time. And by the way, is it the same performance if i use the Momentus XT as storage only compare to normal 7200rpm HDD? Sorry for my bad english-_-
Go under the Apple in the upper left hand corner to System Preferences > Energy saver, and click the box that says “Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible
