Chosen Solution

Hello I have a Nintendo 3ds xl 2015 edition. Its microSD card slot won’t hold in the SD card. I have purchased a replacement from you guys. I just was wondering do I have to un screw and remove the motherboard first, like you did in your teardown of the device, in order to replace the SD card slot? Or do I just need to disconnect the SD card slot right after I open the back housing and simply swap it out with the new one? Also what bits do I need?

Thomas Espinet, I do not own this device so did a search and this is what I found. Screwdrivers/bits required are Philips JIS #0 and JIS #000. I see what you mean on replacement of the SD card slot, according to the forum link(1st link below) you do not have to remove mother board, there is a bit of adhesive tape beneath SD card slot so you need to possibly use little force to pry it up and undo connection carefully. 2nd link is the disassembly guide. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. https://gbatemp.net/threads/solved-sd-ca… Nintendo 3DS XL 2015 Teardown
