I’m in the process of replacing the lower back cover of my MacBook A1342 late 2009 and rather than buying the ruberied back cover I would like to replace it with a MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2009 or 2010. My question is quite simple. Is it possible to do so or does the holes for the screws not in the same positions? Thanking you in advance for your response.
I assume the case looks messy and you want to refresh it. Often they turn yellow and the rubber wears off. Your first option here is replacing the case parts with new ones if you can still find them for your MacBook. As to replacing them with a MacBook Pro case parts Apple tends to change things enough that that is not likely to work. I don’t know of any one even attempting that. OK, is they any other options? You could get snap-on covers which will hide the messy case. The other option here which I like is to give the case a dye job! Take your covers off, sand them down and dye them with RIT Dye. Heres a Sample.
If the rubber has bubbled up there is a possible recall on this model.
