I have replaced my iPhone 5s home button the home button worked fine but the fingerprint not working and every time i restart my iPhone it showing a message stating “Unable to activate Touch ID on this iPhone”. Someone said: The home button that comes with the iPhone is the only home button that will work with the fingerprint scanner, any other after market home button that you put in your iPhone won’t work as fingerprint scanner, but just as home button. is that correct ???
Unfortunately, it is correct. Replacing the home button will lose Touch ID functionality. In the iFixit repair guide, it states this in the Introduction at the top the guide: iPhone 5s Home Button Replacement Sorry.
That has been true since the first day iPhone 5s is introduced and has been asked again over and over, it is starting to get silly asking again.
