Depending on the series you may need to add-in a replacement thermal sensor to offset the removal of the one within your HD if you swap them. If you use the dual drive kit replacing your optical drive with a SSD then you don’t need to worry. You may want to consider swapping out your HD with a SSHD which is a hybrid drive. Both Seagate & Western Digital make 3.5" SSHD’s.
