Hi, im a beginner and learning to repair with microsoldering iphones, i have an iphone 8 plus to repair, if i need to replace electronic components such as capacitors, filters ecc. do i need to take them from another 8+ motherboard or i can just buy a cheap iphone 6s icloud locked just to take the components i need? I dont know if the components are the same and works on all motherboards for each iphone model. Thanks in advance.

emanuele… the components you are trying to replace can be from anywhere so long as the component is in good working order and retains the same values. i.e, a capacitor that is shorted can be replaced with a capacitor that is good from any device, so long as the capacitance, esr, ripple, etc matches the original compnent. when it comes to phones, the best way to know what the value of a component should be is to use schematics or tools such as zxw that give you these values as these particular components dont have printed values like a tv capacitor will…yada yada. if you know what component it is you are replacing and can upload a picture with it highlighted or the board location, i.e c202 or r100…so on, we have tools and schematics we can try and help with this. hope this helps. the only thing that will not match are certain ic’s as they change by model…ie, charging ic’s…..post back for any other assistance needed.
