Having replaced the aux in which fell off on day 2. The unit no longer recognizes that input. It sees the BT and SD Card but will not “click” to the aux. solder joints are clean, the replacement aux is now outboard. Any ideas, please???

Hi @jrush , I don’t know the speaker but did you replace the aux in connector with exactly the same configuration connector? There are a couple of ways that BT speakers are usually wired concerning the aux input. One way is that the BT audio is routed via the aux in connector’s “break contacts” (internal in the aux in connector) so that when the 3.5mm jack is inserted the contacts are broken and the audio from the BT is disconnected from the aux in connector’s amp input connection and the audio from the 3.5mm cable plug’s tip/ring connection is connected to the amp input connection. Here’s an image to show what I mean.

(click on image to enlarge for better viewing) The green arrows are the amp input, the blue arrows are the BT audio, the red arrows are the aux in audio and the orange squares are the contacts that break and make when a plug is inserted. Obviously there are more connections shown than what you have. It is only to give an idea of how it may be connected The other way the BT audio is not connected to the aux in socket and that there is a “make” contact in the aux in connector that operates when the plug is inserted and this sends a signal to the audio controller to switch inputs. Sometimes it is a “break” contact that removes an earth signal to the controller, just to confuse. It depends on the manufacturer.
