I purchased a replacement screen and have removed the old broken one. There are many parts that will be difficult to remove, shroud for the camera, rubber cushion backing on the digitizer, other RFI shields bumpers. What am I supposed to do with things that can’t be removed from the old screen. And the home button, having moved it over, what about gluing the bracket down. There’s really no hints in the tear downs about re-gluing things down. Alignment of the bracket to the home button is extremely critical since the little button on the bracket is what pushes the clicker when pushing the home button.
Yes, that is a common weakness of the repair guides. They are heavily focussed on tearing down the device but very little is said about putting everything back together. For the iPhone, this usually isn’t an issue but the iPads have lot’s of gotcha’s and other subtleties that you don’t realize until your halfway rebuilding it. This problem is compounded by the fact that the Pro line has very little documentation to start with. The camera and HB bracket can be transferred and secured into place with double sided tape but aligning it will be trial and error.
