As the title says, I have replaced my screen on my iPhone 6. Originally I was replacing the flex antenna behind the logic board. While following the instructions on the guid, I lifted the screen like a hinge and it cracked in the top right corner. With my grumbles aside, I ordered a replacement screen which I was able to replace with ease. The problem however is that even on max brightness, the screen is not that bright. Everything appears to have taken on a blueish tint and when comparing with coworkers its easy to see the blue difference. I have taken apart the device to confirm the cable as sat properly. Is there something I’m missing? Or is this an exchange about to happen?

Please contact iFixit support. We are just volunteers helping people fix their stuff. However, one thing you could do is to re-install the original screen to be certain that there is a colour difference. Keep in mind also that iFixit sells three quality levels of screens: The regular aftermarket screens (less expensive but may have a different colour profile)Used screens (original quality but may have some cosmetic imperfections)Their “Choice” line which is a OEM quality screen that may have some aftermarket flexes or front glass. They each have their advantages so you have to pick your poison, so to speak. You can read more about iFixit Quality here.

I had a strong blue tint at a start in the middle of the day, with a very reduced total brightness. I had a screen replacement too, but only the glass and a while ago. Playing around with the color filters in the disabilities settings ngs, I get the tint to a more neutral setting, but not totally white, maybe by a lack of patience. The nightshift setting works even better, it’s a bit more pink then what the filters achieve, but brighter to start with. Thinking back, I believe I had some light effects even beforr dropping the 6 plus phone fom the loft. Iwould rather suspect the sensors burned by over use, bright sun or constant use than an intervention concerning the glass. Or a software issue. If anyone has a good solution, I would be grateful.
