I replaced a battery in my 15” MacBook Pro retina mid 2014 about 2 weeks ago. I had it closed and off charger for a little over a day and then it would not turn on. I let it charge for a day. Computer turns on with charger attached, but not battery alone. After booting up, battery indicator says there is no battery installed. I opened computer back up to check connection. It seemed fine and I went ahead and reseated the connection. Problem remains. Can this be explained other than a defective battery? here is the coconut battery screen shot

Sadly, you’ve got a bad battery ;-{ The micro controller logic within the battery is not reporting any data to the logic board
