I replaced my Xbox one’s optical drive with one I bought from ifixit, it’s the same drive but will not read the disc, and says it needs to be repaired
Since Xbox 360, Microsoft started to pair each drive with the console, so either swap the drive controller board, or hack the drive()if possible).
