Hi – I replaced the superdrive in my mac mini and it’s still not accepting CDs. Maybe the drive I got is also bad, but I’m wondering if maybe I should do the cable next?
What was the source of your part? Go under the Apple to about this Mac > more info or system report > Disk Burning and see if the drive is even being seen.
