I have changed my 5s screen with an new one that has all the extras. Camera, home button, ear speaker. Now the home button doesn’t work.! I have heard the original home button is unique to the phone hardware and alough you probably can get the button to work it won’t do fingerprint recognition. How do I get the new button to work without the fingerprint recognition? Cheers Old grumpy man

No the parts are not directly interchangeable. Not because of the size. But due to the home button and display cable connectors are not compatible. As per your i5S. You should use your old home button. Your Touch ID is directly related to that specific button part

Is the old button salvageable at all ? Your best bet is to just use the old one. Also make sure that the cable is properly connected and that the home button is properly mounted to the LCD assembly.

Hi thanks for your help. As the front facing camera that came with the fully fitted screen and home button etc doesn’t seem to work i will be sending it back anyway. I do have another question about an i phone 5. Is it possible to fit all the parts and screen from an i phone 5 into a 5s body ? I am quite good at the assembly so its just the chassis fittings that i don’t know if they are the same ?? thanks again. StUPid.

thanks again already .. the answer …No the parts are not directly interchangeable. Not because of the size. But due to the home button and display cable connectors are not compatible. i was going to swop all the insides and screen to a 5s body. so all parts into 5s body. is that a possibility. ? cheers NutZ
