I received an iPad mini from an aunt who had broke the LCD + Digitiser. I replaced those but the digitiser did not recognise touches, I realised that the connector was missing pins on the logic board so I bought an iPad mini with a cracked screen on eBay. I replaced the cracked screen with the ones that I bought and it worked perfect, but the case was bent really bad so I decided to move the logic board from the working iPad mini into the case of my broken iPad mini. I done this earlier today and I was extra careful, and thought everything went smoothly, after closing everything up I decided to try the charger, but nothing. No charging indicator or noise. Im not sure what the issue is, I didn’t rip the flex or solder points as I was extra careful, but it just doesn’t recognise the charger when inserted and doesn’t take on any charge. I haven’t opened it up again to have a look but are there any suggestions as to what I should double check when I do? edit* Okay, some more info I’ve discovered since I posted this. 99% of the cables + wall adapter combinations I have tried will not work (iPad displays the not certified message), even the official out of the box Apple onesiPad charges with only 1 or 2 cables out of the pile that I had triedFrom the cables that do work, they dont work both sides (meaning if I put it in and it doesn’t recognise the charge I have to turn it around to the other side and it’ll workThe 1 or 2 cables that I have got to work are unofficial apple ones
I would closely inspect the flexes for tears, even small ones and the areas on the logic board surrounding the connectors for loose or dislodged components. When you connect your iPad to an iTunes enabled computer, is it recognized? If not, try another cable if you have one and reboot the computer/iTunes to be certain. A failure here could point to a problem with the charge port or logic board.
