I swapped out the lightning port part on my iPhone 6. It now charges and shows up on iTunes, but it now shows white lines over the screen (but I can still see icons, etc.) and the touch doesn’t work on the screen. I’ve disconnected the battery and display ribbons several times, but it doesn’t seem to fix the issue. I may have mixed up the screws at one point while reassembling - could this be a result of long screw damage?
White lines are usually caused by an improperly connected screen. When you connect the screen, you should hear and feel a subtle yet distinct “snap”. You should also take a closer look (magnification helps) at the condition of the connectors. They are easily damaged or can contain debris which impedes a proper connection.
