I replaced the DLP chip. Turned on tv and nothing. The tv tries to come on but just black screen and red blink light. Then nothing. So, we replaced the bulb. and still nothing. Could it be that ribbon cable to the color wheel? I rechecked all the cables and everything is hooked up.
Yes, I fixed it. It was the chip. Make sure you set it just right into the holder. It took me 3 times to get it right. I labeled all the cables and kept the screws all separated. By the third time I could open the tv and put it back together within 30 minutes. Good luck!
The problem I had was the color wheel ribbon cable was upside down. I think the metal contacts need to face up when plugging it in. Took me three trouble shooting attempts to figure it out.
