Solved Replaced Disc Reader And Still Won T Read Disc Playstation 2

I just replaced the laser disc reader on my Fat PS2 and it still doesn’t read, but the odd thing is when I placed the Disc in the tray like normal, the disc spins for a second then stops. I know it’s not the reader so what is it? Update (03/01/2018) @oldturkey03 Son of a ##&&%, I think you’re right. Take a look at this: the old one is from the console itself and the new one is the one I got from Ebay.

@sheppardsr1 there are differences between models etc. so you always want to make sure that you change like for like…any numbers on your assemblies? Hard to see on your pictures. BTW thanks for posting those.
